Twitter: Waste of Time or Brilliant for Business?

by Alan Underkofler on March 20, 2009

Almost every day someone asks me if I think Social Media can help their business.  Just yesterday I was talking with a few members from a local chamber of commerce about social media.  One of the members stated “social media is not important to our members as they will not receive any benefit”.  Of course I was a bit surprised by this comment to say the least.  Using social media tools in your business like Twitter can make a huge difference.  I have many great stories of small businesses using Twitter to grow their business.  I have to say this again to insure you hear it…

Many businesses are GROWING, EXPANDING, and INCREASING SALES using tools like Twitter even with all the negative economic news which seems to be consuming people at the moment.

So here is one great example of a small business using Twitter and social media to grow and expand.  Watch the video and learn about how a Southern CA entrepreneur launched Kogi, a Korean bbq truck that drives to different locations throughout Los Angeles cooking tacos out of a catering truck.  Using Twitter he attracts hundreds of people to his location!

So tell me, how is your business using Twitter and social media to expand and grow?  What did you learn from watching this video?  And my last question, if an entrepreneur can launch a new business selling tacos out of a catering truck using Twitter, what can you do?
