Twitter: Your Next Love is Just a Tweet Away

by Alan Underkofler on January 16, 2009

Yes I said it!  Here is another great use for Twitter!  You’ve seen one online single’s dating site, you’ve seen them all – right?  Wrong!  Enter My Tweetheart a free single’s site that has taken the revolutionary micro-blogging social media service Twitter one step further, by helping you look for friendships, romance and love!

MyTweetheart is a firm believer that there is someone “out there” for everyone, and even offers dating tips, conversation, and inspiration to those seeking their Twitter Tweetheart!

Started in October 2008 by @MyTweetheart, who to date has nearly 2,500 followers, this free single’s service gives you the opportunity to go beyond Twitter’s 140 character limit and romantically connect with someone locally or even globally!  To join, all you need is a free Twitter account, and then message @MyTweetheart on Twitter that you would like to be listed!  It is that simple!  There are currently hundreds of Twitter singles in search of their Twitter Tweetheart on the site already, with new singles added daily!  And as proof that you can find love on Twitter, just ask @gwenbell, who met her fiancé, @jlongtine,  on Twitter and is planning a wedding in March!  Congrats to the both of them!

MyTweetheart was one out of four contenders in Mashable (@mashable) Open Web Awards, Dating and Romance category, and was mentioned by @GossipJustinTV on her site Twitter Sip.

MyTweetheart may very well be the next HOT dating site!  At this point the website is fairly simple with lots of room for improvement.  I look forward to checking back in with MyTweatheart next year to see the progress I am sure they will be making!

Visit MyTweetheart and find out why the hottest question online is no longer Twitter’s “What are you doing?” but more interestingly… “Who are you doing it with?”
